One of the rarest copper coins of the times of the Kingdom of Poland.
The first vintage of trojaks from the time of the Russian partition. Known only from a new minting in the late 1860s of the 19th century. Made in two basic types: the mint in Warsaw (without rim, slanted edge) and the mint in St. Petersburg - like the present piece.Made with the year of the establishment of the Kingdom of Poland (June 9), although the new monetary system was established on November 19 of that year.
St. Petersburg trojak 1815 characterized by a minting with a pearl edge and smooth rim.
The type is clearly rarer than the Warsaw mintage (sold in our auction 15, item 100, with a price of 44,840 zlotys), which is also confirmed by former price lists (Berezowski 100.00 zlotys, Warsaw 40.00 zlotys) or catalogs (Plage with twice the rarity rating).
At auctions in Poland only one listing, of this piece (ANPN auction 5 item 359 in 2014).
A coin with the fresh, intense mint mirror characteristic of the new mints and excellent detail.
A specimen piece.
