A beautifully preserved stater minted in the name of Philip II of Macedon.

The coin was made in exquisite style. With a beautiful luster. Gently nicked behind the portrait.

Rare in such condition.

The beauty of the coin was also appreciated at the 8th PDA auction (2005), where it was the highlight of the antique coin offering, ending up on the cover of the catalog.

Obverse: Head of Apollo wearing a laurel wreath, facing right.

Reverse: God driven by Apollo, clockwise, head and monogram in right field, legend ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ in segment.

Gold, diameter 18 mm, weight 8.57 g.
