This is not only a striking gold coin the size of a half-taler(!). It is also a great rarity, and perhaps a rarity.
A beautiful, minted 1610 three-drachma from the time of the co-rulership of the Duchy of Legnica-Brzesko-Volov by two brothers.
The very vintage of this coin is very rare. In this variety, however, it is even unprecedented.
A variety with an oval shield of the coat of arms, instead of a simple, stylized one.
Not described by Edmund Kopicki. By Jaroslaw Dutkowski (Gold of the times of the Vasa dynasty) described with the highest degree of rarity (R8) and illustrated with this piece. Known to him only from one catalog of the collection (Regely of 1918).
First time at auction in Poland.
At foreign auctions listed only 1 time, in 1994 (Leu Numismatik auction no. 60), this piece!
Coin with mint mirror background. Very well minted and preserved. A bargain, which is also confirmed by the NGC high MS63 note in the old grading.
Highly recommended, as a second buying opportunity may not arise again.
